As part of the CNA Insider’s two-part series on the road map for driverless vehicles in South Korea and Singapore, Autonomous a2z is one of the featured South Korean Autonomous mobility solution providers.
Mr Yu Min-Sang, the Managing Director of Strategy in Autonomous a2z has been interviewed by CNA Talking Point. Mr Yu has shared the experiences of Autonomous a2z’s achievements and track records. Autonomous a2z’s “Level 4” driverless vehicle, has been tested at the proving ground – “K-City” at a speed of more than 60 km/h with preloaded data about the K-City surroundings.
Autonomous a2z has attempted the production of various Autonomous Vehicle platforms ranging from passenger cars to bus platforms. The first car produced by Autonomous a2z cost 500 million won, while subsequent productions of the same car model range between 300 million to 400 million won. An autonomous bus would cost around 300 million won.
Autonomous a2z’s vision sets on commercialising Level 4 vehicles by 2025 and building a manufacturing hub ready for production in South Korea by 2027.

Autonomous a2z, is a South Korea-based smart mobility technology company that operates the most autonomous driving cars on public roads in Korea 31 licensed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, cumulative autonomous driving distance of 230,000 km as of 1st December 2022). The company’s proprietary technology ‘a2z lidar infrastructure system’ is an ‘infrastructure-based autonomous driving’ (ATI) technology that implements autonomous cooperative driving by installing lidar sensors on infrastructure rather than vehicles and combining them with HD MAP.
