IIB Partners with KILSA Global to Drive Korean SMEs’ Expansion into Southeast Asia

Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) has announced a strategic partnership with KILSA Global to accelerate the entry of Korean startups and SMEs into Southeast Asia.

The collaboration aims to position Medini and Iskandar Puteri as innovation hubs, attracting global talent, investment, and boosting Johor’s economic development.

IIB, a key player in the transformation of Iskandar Malaysia, focuses on creating a sustainable urban ecosystem for technology and business services. Medini’s connectivity, enhanced by upcoming infrastructure projects like the Rapid Transit System and High-Speed Rail, positions it as a gateway for global investors and a launchpad for Korean businesses in the region’s US$3 trillion market.

Dato’ Idzham Mohd Hashim, CEO of IIB, emphasised the partnership’s role in supporting Korean businesses through investment facilitation and collaboration with local agencies. This initiative fosters an innovation ecosystem that supports mentorship, networking, and talent development for Korean enterprises.

KILSA Global, a Singapore-based expansion service platform, helps businesses enter new markets by offering localized services and access to regional networks.

Managing Director Philip Jongseok Park highlighted Southeast Asia’s growing digital economy as a prime opportunity for Korean startups and SMEs, with the region’s digital economy projected to reach USD 300 billion by 2025.

This partnership not only boosts business growth but also contributes to Johor’s transformation by attracting international talent and fostering innovation.
