TechInnovation by IPI facilitates collaboration within the global innovation ecosystem, supporting the discovery and commercialisation of new technologies
TechInnovation 2024 is set to enhance how local SMEs access and engage with global markets. Organised by IPI, a subsidiary of Enterprise Singapore, this flagship event serves as an essential platform for businesses to explore growth opportunities through strategic matchmaking with industry leaders and potential partners. By connecting innovators, technology providers, and industry leaders from Singapore and beyond, through TechInnovation, IPI facilitates collaboration within the global innovation ecosystem, supporting the discovery and commercialisation of new technologies.
IPI’s mission is to support the growth of Singaporean companies by linking them with international partners. This year, TechInnovation provides a platform for global exhibitors to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and establish partnerships with Singaporean businesses. Key partners include KILSA Global, an organisation with a strong focus on supporting Korean companies looking to scale their operations and connect with global partners; and the Japanese Corporates Technology Innovation (JCTI) Launchpad, promoting cross-border collaborations with top Japanese corporations such as Panasonic, Ricoh, Mitsui Chemicals, Toyo Seikan and Nisshinbo. Additionally, Thailand’s Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMUC) will host a pavilion with 22 startups advancing AI, green technology, and digitalisation, underscoring IPI’s shared commitment to fostering impactful, sustainable innovations across the region.
“TechInnovation is a vital platform for both local and international companies to discover and promote innovative technology solutions. This year, we are welcoming over 30 international exhibitors, including Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Multinational Corporations, to showcase their cutting-edge technologies,” said Wong Lup Wai, CEO of IPI. “The increased global participation reflects TechInnovation’s growing reputation as a hub for technological advancement.”
The theme of TechInnovation 2024, Sustainable Urban Living, covers key areas such as urban solutions, agriculture and food, as well as health and wellness. Themes that span these topics are the latest innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), digitalisation, and sustainability. Exhibitors will address global challenges, demonstrating how their technologies can create positive environmental and societal impacts. IPI’s collaboration with exhibitors such as EtaVolt and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, who will showcase eco-friendly technologies, underscores its commitment to promoting sustainable innovation and driving global impact.
“TechInnovation plays a vital role in empowering businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), by creating essential connections and fostering partnerships. The event not only showcases innovative solutions but also opens up new market opportunities, demonstrating its significant value for growth. Our exhibitors have expressed their enthusiasm for participating last year and are excited to return this year, reflecting the positive impact TechInnovation has on their business journey,” said Alvin How, CTO of IPI Singapore.
